Service-related Announcements

We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is suspended for maintenance, we may send you an email. Generally, you may not opt out of these communications, particularly as they are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

Newsletters

If you wish to subscribe to our email newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the emails to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you an option to unsubscribe. Please see the Opt Out section below.

Opt Out

We provide you the opportunity to opt out of having your personal information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional promotional emails from us, you may opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of each email communication.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter.

By accepting these terms and conditions, you (i) allow us to share your data strictly with companies within Sherry&CO and (ii) give your express, specific and informed consent to receive emails of promotional materials concerning optical products and glasses from these companies. Each email sent to you by Sherry&CO will include an ‘unsubscribe’ link.

Removing Display/Advertisements from Your Device

Option A

Go to the NAI website. Their site will scan your computer/device for any third-party display or advertisements. A list of any third-party ads will then be populated and from there you can select the checkboxes next to the ads that you would like to remove. This ensures that advertisements will not come back to your computer/device as it is not registered to receive them. Note, the NAI website is not associated with Sherry&Co

Option B

Manually access the cache and cookies of your browser and clear them. You will need to clear all to remove all third-party display advertisements.

We may also collect personal information from third parties including:

    ·      from third party companies such as credit reporting agencies.

    ·      from data analysis agencies.

    ·      from health funds.

    ·      from other optometrists and health practitioners with your consent.

When you use our website, we may use aggregated, anonymous analytic tracking via a third party to gather information about the way the website is used. In some cases we may also collect your personal information through the use of cookies. When you access our website by typing the address in your browser or by clicking on our advertisement on a third party website, we or a third party on our behalf may send a “cookie” (which is a small summary file containing a unique ID number) to your computer. This enables us to recognise your computer and greet you each time you visit our website without bothering you with a request to register or to log in. It also enables us to keep track of products or services you view so that, if you consent, we can send you news about those products or services. We also use cookies to measure traffic patterns, to determine which areas of our website have been visited and to measure transaction patterns in the aggregate. We use this to research our users’ habits so that we can improve our online products and services. If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can set your browser so that your computer does not accept them.

We may log IP addresses (that is, the electronic addresses of computers connected to the internet) to analyse trends, administer the website, track users’ movements, and gather broad demographic information.

If you provide personal information about a third-party individual to us, you must ensure that the third-party individual is aware of this Privacy Policy, understands it and agrees to accept it. Information collected from visitors to our website (including via mobile access)

When you use our website, Sherry&CO may collect information about our website users collectively, which may include data about your location (i.e. city and country), internet browser type, language, operating system, service provider, screen resolution and whether you are visiting for the first time or revisiting our website. This data is anonymously collected and only used in aggregate, and as such no identifying information is collected. Sherry&CO uses this information to help improve our website and its usability and to help us determine what is most beneficial to our users so that we can provide you with the best possible experience.

Our use of cookies

In order to measure the success of our on-line advertising we use pixels, or transparent GIF files, to establish which of our online adverts successfully bring people to our website. The GIF files are provided by third parties who provide us with online advertising analysis. This system places a cookie on your browser when you enter our website via online advertisements allowing us to see which online advertisements bring us the most visitors to our website. The information collected on our behalf is anonymous and does not personally identify you. The information does not contain your name, address, telephone number or your e-mail address. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but you can change your browser to reject them. Even without a cookie you can still use our website.

We may disclose an anonymised version of your email address (we use a process called hashing to protect your details) to third party social media sites such as Facebook and Google to enable us to display marketing to you via such sites and allow us to monitor how effective our adverts are and help us to target our adverts more effectively. “Hashing” is similar to encryption and means that we scramble the plain text of your email address to create a unique and irreversible message. This means that the social media sites do not receive a plain text version of your email address or any other personal information. Where we do this, we require social media providers only to use your information for the purposes of enabling us to display marketing to you through their site and to monitor how effective our adverts are and ensure that our adverts are targeted at the correct people or types of people – not for any of their own purposes. You can update your social media privacy preferences on your own social media accounts.

Your personal information will not be shared, sold, rented or disclosed other than as described in this Privacy Policy.
